Storm Water Pollution Prevention Tips

  • Wash department vehicles only at Parking and Transportation or at a commercial car wash.
  • Dispose of cleaning water into sanitary sewer drains only.
  • Ensure all laboratory waste and hazardous waste is disposed of properly. Visit OEHS's Waste Management Decision Tree. If you have any questions about proper waste disposal or need a waste pick-up, contact OEHS at 982-4911.
  • Make sure all of your students doing research have been trained in proper lab techniques and waste disposal. Make sure the students understand potential problems which may arise as a result of chemical interactions or accidentally mixing the wrong chemicals.
