Stormwater Management
Welcome to Environmental Health & Safety's Stormwater Management website at the University of Virginia. Here you will find information about the University’s stormwater management plans, stormwater management regulations, and general information on stormwater related issues and how you can help prevent stormwater pollution. The goal of the University’s stormwater management program is to ensure that stormwater generated on University property does not adversely impact the natural environment either on or off Grounds.

The photograph above shows the newly constructed Dell pond. This pond is part of a larger Meadow Creek daylighting project that includes the pond, reconstructed stream channel and two floodplain areas representing a typical forested uplands floodplain and a typical Piedmont open floodplain. The goal of this project was to enhance the quality of Meadow Creek from both water quality and quantity perspectives. It also provides a park-like setting that can be enjoyed by all.
