Erosion & Sediment Control
The University of Virginia has its own Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) specifications that are reviewed annually by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. These specifications outline the operation of the E&SC program at UVa, including plan implementation and administration, construction plan requirements, and inspections and enforcement.
E&SC Controls are necessary to keep mud and sediments contained on construction sites thus preventing it from being tracked onto roadways or washed into our storm sewer system and local streams.
Proper use and maintenance of E&SC controls can prevent
mud and sediment from causing downstream impacts!
